How to prepare the water.In the literature, you can meet the recommendation to use a mixture of distilled water (80%) and water from the tap (20%). Or, more commonly, water after filtration through reverse osmosis filters.
That is correct.
But if you have several hundred plants, these methods are very expensive.
Distilled water road. Distillation column to buy - expensive. Osmosis filters, when such consumption must be changed every couple of months, but it is also very expensive.
Tap water dirty, and usually rigid. Her PH (in our tap) 8-8.5. It has much salt Ca, Mn, Mg. This is something that falls bloom in the teapot. That is called a stone. That raid - the death of orchids. He will score the velamen, score the stomata and the orchid will die.
Conventional coal-fired household filters are not bad to cope with a stone. Unless, of course, often change. A pitcher, in which they are inserted, very comfortable to use.
Known following fact. Peat, lain long enough in the water, it softens. And if sphagnum peat, it still adds to the water for some, not very large, number of antibiotics and "Fulvic Acid". Fulvic Acid - this is the end product of the process of humification. Acid, rich in organic and mineral substances in a readily accessible form for plants, is an organic growth stimulator.

1. We miss the water from the tap twice through a carbon filter.
2. We insist on peat for two - three days. 500 grams of peat in the tank to 30 liters of water. Peat change once a month.

Regulation of PH.To control the PH you need first and foremost instrument of diagnostics PH. You can buy a very expensive PH-meter, or you can use much cheaper PH test kit.
